There is so much power in storytelling. It was through telling my own story that I finally forgave myself for the hard times in my life. I gained self-compassion and embraced vulnerability. 

As a male with a lesser-known eating disorder, I knew I needed to share my story to help others who were going through the same things I battled. I've realized it always tougher to start a conversation than join one, so I want to be the person who makes it easier for others to open up. I want people to know they are never alone, they are worthy of help and most importantly, they have a story to share. A story that can inspire and empower. 

I've recently started saying that the strongest man in the room is the one who shares his emotions and embraces vulnerability and authenticity. This Is My Brave gives people like me the platform to do just that. I am proud to be a part of this amazing family and organization, that enables the speaker to grow alongside the audience through the simple act of storytelling.

Please help me support this wonderful cause so that we can "one day live in a world where we don’t have to call it 'brave' to talk openly about mental illness. We’ll simply call it talking." That is the mission of This Is My Brave and one I've incorporated in the work I do with my blog.
